Covid-19 Messaging
The basic outline for a Covid-19-specific 30 second commercial featuring the marmot character(s) created for this campaign.

Things have been pretty wild out there… The scene is dark, foreboding, feelings of peril. We are outside at night, in the wilderness, lightning flashing, wind roaring, the conditions are unfit for any living soul.
We’ve been hunkered down in our dens, ready to ride out the worst of it. A snug cavern, warmly lit, cozy.  A family of marmots is inside, curled up sheltering together, as under the voice-over, the whistle of the wind, the crack of thunder still sounds periodically.
And though it may feel now as if the clouds will never part, even the harshest of storms passes. The marmot family seems to despair. They huddle together, they look worried, they look sad, the little ones are comforted by their parents.
So rest. And dream, and plan, and aspire. The family seems to shift gears, find resolve, begin to pull out maps, packs, look at pictures of beautiful places, planning adventures, getting excited, coming together and sharing joy. Meanwhile, the sounds of wind and thunder fade, slowly transition into quiet, followed by the faintest of bird song.
Because nature is waiting… The family is shouldering packs, they are excited, they are preparing to go out into the world again.

Embrace Outside. The sun shines on a breathtakingly beautiful landscape as the marmot family sets out on an adventure.  Tag line drops in over the scene as it fades out.
 

Marmot Mascot Plush
This little buddy, the marmot in Marmot, is winnable during different events at Meet-A-Marmot Day, and is available for purchase in participating retailers, with a portion of each sale going to wildlife conservation efforts around the globe.

The only outdoor brand whose name is also an adorable, hardy, interesting mascot, the reiteration of the marmot in Marmot just makes sense as a way to set the brand apart from competitors in the eyes of consumers.

Event Series
To be hosted at retailers around the country in a traveling tour, this special weekend event will feature the unique opportunity to meet a real life marmot and other wildlife the Marmot customer might encounter on adventures.

The event will also include a Marmot pop-up shop, giveaways, seminars on topics of interest to the typical Marmot customer, wildlife education sessions, and other family fun.

Charity Pairing
It’s a natural move (ha) for Marmot, named for a familiar, furry mountaintop-dweller, to align itself with groups dedicated to conservation of wildlife of and their habitats the world over. This program fosters feel-good purchases for Marmot patrons and aligns beautifully with the brand’s core beliefs.
